Thinking of putting yourself out there?
Here are my lessons having tried it.

Hi!
Are you working on putting yourself out there?
I’m asking because it seems like everyone around me are constantly doing this.
At work, my co-workers reach out to leaders to share their experiences. They remind leaders what they bring to the table and will be top of mind when projects start.
In my capacity as a coach, my peers are building an active presence on social media to attract their ideal clients.
I wonder all the time how people promote themselves so effortlessly. Having to do all these is scary but seems like the clear cut recipe for success (to my annoyance).

If you are facing this pressure to put yourself out there, what’s usually between thinking and action?
I stop to think about:
Originality: is this a entirely new concept no one has thought of?
Value: will it create an impact and will anyone be interested in it?
Credibility: will I be challenged about my views?
What I have been wrong about, thankfully ☠️
The most popular posts are on topics that are evergreen. They are not original, they tend to be built off a bunch of concepts. For example, Confidence and Motivation are topics covered again and again.
Process and not product. What I mean is the curiosity is in how you get there, not just the end product. The small bits of improvements and overcoming challenges are what keeps it entertaining.
I don’t have to generate all the ideas on my own. Sure, creativity is important. That’s where ChatGPT can help.
Some ideas if you want to keep doing it 💡
If you have something you enjoy doing, continue writing or speaking in that space! Passion is contagious.
Try teaching what you know. It is a great way to get started without the daunting thought of learning something from scratch.
Start with the challenge your audience is dealing with. That addresses whether your content or what you say is creating an impact.
